The ELEXCON Shenzhen International Electronics Show & Embedded Systems Exhibition, hosted by Bowen Creative Exhibition (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. at the end of September 2021, will be themed “The Smart World Starts Here! Because brushless DC motors lack excitation windings, commutators, brushes, and slip rings, their construction is simpler than that of conventional AC and DC motors. As a result, they operate more reliably and are easier to maintain. Compared with squirrel-cage induction motors, their structural simplicity and operational reliability are roughly equivalent. Since they have no iron losses or copper losses associated with excitation, when the power rating is below 300 W, their efficiency is 10% to 20% higher than that of similarly rated motors driven by current-excited fields. Moreover, compared with induction motors, they exhibit even higher efficiency.
