When using DC cooling fans, have you ever encountered a situation where they fail shortly after starting up? DC fan Like other machinery and equipment, we need to regularly maintain and inspect it to identify any potential issues—this will help extend its service life. The following are maintenance methods and storage conditions for cooling fans:
1. During operation, if the DC cooling fan exhibits any of the following abnormalities—unusual noises, severe motor overheating, live casing, tripped circuit breaker, or failure to start—it should be immediately shut down and inspected. To ensure safety, repairs are not permitted while the fan is running. After maintenance, a trial run of approximately 5 to 10 minutes is required to confirm that no abnormalities remain before resuming normal operation.
2. The fan may only be operated when it is completely normal and functioning properly. At the same time, ensure that the power supply has sufficient capacity and stable voltage. It is strictly prohibited to operate the fan beyond or below its specified voltage range, or to run it with a phase missing. The power supply line must be dedicated; long-term use of temporary lines for power supply is not permitted.
3. The operating environment for DC fans should be kept regularly well-ventilated, dry, and clean. The fan surface must be kept clean, and the air inlets and outlets should be free of any debris. Dust and other foreign objects inside the fan and ducts should be removed periodically.
4. According to the operating environment, periodically replenish or replace the lubricant in the bearings (for enclosed motor bearings, lubricant does not need to be replaced throughout the bearing’s service life). To ensure proper lubrication of the DC cooling fan during operation, lubricate the enclosed bearings and motor bearings at least once every 1,000 hours. Use ZL-3 lithium-based grease to fill one-third of both the inner and outer races of the bearings. Running with insufficient lubrication is strictly prohibited.
5. DC cooling fans should be stored in a dry environment to prevent the motor or drive unit from getting damp. When storing DC cooling fans outdoors, appropriate protective measures must be taken. During storage and handling, care should be taken to avoid bumps or strong impacts from external forces, so as to prevent damage to the fan.
