As the name suggests, a miniature cooling fan is a small, compact cooling fan designed for use in spaces with limited room. With advancements in technology, we increasingly demand devices that are not only more convenient but also more portable. Consequently, the applications of miniature cooling fans are becoming ever more widespread. Today, let’s explore the noise factors associated with miniature cooling fans. As we all know, miniature cooling fans tend to generate less noise compared to their larger counterparts. But what other factors influence noise levels?
1. Bearings: We cannot overlook the noise generated by bearings—their contribution is the single largest source of noise. Under normal circumstances, fans equipped with dual-ball bearings produce significantly more noise than those with oil-lubricated bearings.
2. Friction: When a miniature cooling fan has been in use for an extended period, issues such as instability in its center of gravity may arise. This can cause the fan blades to collide with or rub against the fan housing, resulting in noise.
3. Rotational speed: This is also an essential factor— the higher the rotational speed, the greater the noise will be accordingly.
4. Airflow: As the fan blades rotate, they encounter resistance from the air. The faster the blades spin and the larger their surface area, the greater the resistance—and consequently, the noise level will inevitably increase.
Of course, these are noise sources we can’t afford to ignore. So, what little secrets do we have for reducing the noise from cooling fans?
1. Regularly clean the dust from the cooling fan using a soft brush.
2. For shock absorption and cushioning, in addition to ensuring a firm and secure fit, you can also add thin fabrics, rubber pads, or other cushioning materials at the points of contact.
3. Adjust the fan speed downward in conjunction with the corresponding equipment.
4. Add lubricant to the cooling fan.
5. Choose brands with high quality and strong reputations—good products are indeed expensive, but only good ones are worth the price.

Advantages and Applications of Oil-Bearing DC Fans

The pivot joint is fixed at the position of the motor stator base, ensuring an appropriate gap between the rotor and the stator. Of course, there must also be a clearance between the shaft core and the bearings to prevent the shaft core from becoming locked and thus unable to function. The stator structure of the motor—hereafter referred to as the "stator"—is designed in such a way that, once power is supplied, an induced magnetic field will be generated between the rotor and the stator. The control circuit then drives the electric fan motor into operation. Therefore, in the conventional fan motor design, as long as the fan rotor, the motor stator, and the drive circuit work together via the pivot joint between the shaft core and the bearings and through magnetic field induction, the motor can operate effectively.
