Many customers, when inquiring about cooling fans, often ask the seller whether they’re from the manufacturer. There are generally two reasons for this: First, cooling fans sold directly by the manufacturer are definitely cheaper than those sold through distributors; second, fans sold by the manufacturer are genuine and will not be refurbished units.
Shenzhen Jiangshanlai Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. was founded in 2005 in Shenzhen, China. It is a large-scale enterprise integrating customization, R&D, manufacturing, sales, and service of DC brushless motors, DC cooling fans, DC brushless fans, DC stand fans, boosted cooling fans, miniature cooling fans, DC cooling fans, DC blowers, and non-standard fans. We are a wholesale manufacturer of DC fans. DC fan supplier Our products are best-selling in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Dongguan in Guangdong Province, as well as in Fujian, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu provinces. Here, our editor will explain how to distinguish between refurbished fans and original-brand fans, providing a helpful reference for our customers when purchasing cooling fans.
First, take a look at the trademark: The trademarks on genuine factory-made cooling fans are printed with exquisite detail, featuring even colors, clear and glossy lettering, and a raised, three-dimensional effect. In contrast, the trademarks on refurbished fans—being non-genuine—are of poor print quality. Often, the background color varies in shade, the lettering lacks any raised texture, and a light scratch with your fingernail will easily remove the color from the surface. By contrast, scratching the trademark on a genuine fan with your fingernail won’t leave any marks at all.
Next, take a look at the fan blades: On the surface of the blades of an original, genuine cooling fan, you’ll notice a matte finish. When held up to the light, you can see fine, evenly distributed particles; and when you touch them with your hand, they feel slightly rough. In contrast, refurbished fans, having been exposed to prolonged friction with air, have lost these surface particles altogether, leaving their blades smooth and shiny—so much so that you can even see traces of wear and tear from handling.
Finally, there are the mounting holes: Since refurbished fans have all been used before, traces will remain on the mounting holes. If self-tapping screws were used, you’ll find screw threads inside the holes; if screws and nuts were used for fastening, you’ll see indentation marks from the nuts around the holes.
