DC brushless fan With the development of the electronic information industry, DC brushless fans have become widely used in many sectors. But what exactly is a DC brushless fan? I’m sure many customers would like to know its operating principle. So today, let’s talk about it!

The brushless DC motor consists of a motor body and a driver, making it a typical mechatronic product.
The stator windings of the motor are typically configured in a three-phase symmetrical star connection, making them very similar to those of a three-phase induction motor. The rotor of the motor is equipped with permanently magnetized magnets. To detect the polarity of the motor rotor, a position sensor is installed inside the motor. The driver is composed of power electronic devices and integrated circuits, among other components. Its functions include: receiving start, stop, and braking signals from the motor to control its starting, stopping, and braking; receiving signals from the position sensor and forward/reverse rotation signals to switch the power transistors in the inverter bridge on and off, thereby generating continuous torque; receiving speed commands and speed feedback signals to control and adjust the motor’s rotational speed; and providing protection and display functions, among others.
Since brushless DC motors operate in a self-controlled manner, they do not require additional starting windings on the rotor—as is the case with synchronous motors that start under heavy load when using variable-frequency speed control—and they also avoid oscillations and loss of synchronization during sudden load changes.
Depending on the type of bearing, brushless fans can be categorized into four types: 1. Single-ball-bearing brushless fans; 2. Rulon-bearing brushless fans; 3. Hydraulic-bearing brushless fans; and 4. Nano-bearing brushless fans. The standard dimensions of DC brushless fans typically include 6 cm, 7 cm, 8 cm, and 9 cm. A small number of coolers have begun using extra-large 12-cm diameter fans. Fan sizes and specifications are usually indicated by four-digit numbers.
Simply put, DC brushless fans are energy-efficient, have high power density, produce low operating noise, and are easy to maintain!

Advantages and Applications of Oil-Bearing DC Fans

The pivot joint is fixed at the position of the motor stator base, ensuring an appropriate gap between the rotor and the stator. Of course, there must also be a clearance between the shaft core and the bearings to prevent the shaft core from becoming locked and thus unable to function. The stator structure of the motor—hereafter referred to as the "stator"—is designed in such a way that, once power is supplied, an induced magnetic field will be generated between the rotor and the stator. The control circuit then drives the electric fan motor into operation. Therefore, in the conventional fan motor design, as long as the fan rotor, the motor stator, and the drive circuit work together via the pivot joint between the shaft core and the bearings and through magnetic field induction, the motor can operate effectively.
