Cooling fans are widely used across various industries, and the application requirements differ significantly from one industry to another. Outdoor communication equipment calls for waterproof fans, while cabinets and autonomous vehicles require high-volume fans. The medical industry, on the other hand, demands ultra-silent, long-life fans... So, what factors should we consider when selecting the right fan?

Today, our editor is here to share some useful knowledge with you:

1. Size
The size of the cooling fan should be selected based on the equipment’s structural design. After confirming the dimensions, proceed to verify other parameters. Generally, fans with smaller dimensions tend to have higher rotational speeds.
2. Bearing
The bearings used in cooling fans come in three types: dual-ball bearings, hydraulic bearings, and oil-bearing bearings. Among these three types, their lifespans and noise levels decrease in the order of high to low.
3. Noise
Generally speaking, the lower the noise level of a cooling fan, the better—and the more popular it tends to be among users. However, noise levels are directly related to factors such as airflow and bearings. Therefore, we should select a fan model based on the specific environmental conditions.
4. Airflow
The airflow of a cooling fan—greater airflow indicates stronger wind power and better cooling performance. However, this also leads to increased noise levels and can somewhat shorten the fan’s service life.
5. Signal
Choosing the signal wire for the cooling fan—this signal wire is our little helper.
1. The RD alarm signal is triggered when the fan stops rotating, allowing us to promptly address the issue and arrange for repairs.
2. The FG speed signal can detect the rotational speed of the fan in real time during operation.
3. PWM speed control signal: The speed control signal can adjust the motor speed according to the different seasonal climates, thereby saving power consumption and reducing noise.
4. The temperature control signal can automatically adjust its rotational speed based on the surrounding air temperature.

Advantages and Applications of Oil-Bearing DC Fans

The pivot joint is fixed at the position of the motor stator base, ensuring an appropriate gap between the rotor and the stator. Of course, there must also be a clearance between the shaft core and the bearings to prevent the shaft core from becoming locked and thus unable to function. The stator structure of the motor—hereafter referred to as the "stator"—is designed in such a way that, once power is supplied, an induced magnetic field will be generated between the rotor and the stator. The control circuit then drives the electric fan motor into operation. Therefore, in the conventional fan motor design, as long as the fan rotor, the motor stator, and the drive circuit work together via the pivot joint between the shaft core and the bearings and through magnetic field induction, the motor can operate effectively.
