What should I do if the CPU fan on my laptop is experiencing cooling failure?
Under normal circumstances, the CPU rarely encounters problems. However, even if a fault does occur, it’s still relatively easy to diagnose. When the CPU malfunctions, the usual symptom is that the computer simply won’t power on—there’s no response from the system at all. Specifically, when you press the power button, there’s no beep from the case speaker, and the monitor remains completely blank. If you encounter any of these symptoms, you should suspect that the issue might be related to the CPU. Therefore, it’s essential to familiarize yourself with the common signs of CPU failures and to acquire certain troubleshooting skills.

Today, we’ll introduce some common CPU faults and their troubleshooting methods.
1. Without a CPU, the machine cannot start up.
1. Based on the analysis of the fault symptoms, the issue might be with the CPU chip. First, turn off the computer by pressing the power button on the chassis panel.
2. Press the power strip switch to cut off the power.
3. Remove the peripherals, then unscrew and remove the case cover screws and the case cover itself.
4. Disconnect the CPU cooler fan connector.
5. Rotate the CPU cooler’s fixing clip counterclockwise by 90° to remove the CPU cooling fan.
6. Pull the lever and secure the cover.
7. Found that the CPU is not installed.
8. Install the CPU chip. The gold triangle mark on the CPU corresponds to the gold triangle mark on the motherboard, serving to indicate the correct orientation for CPU installation.
9. Close the pull rod
10. Install the CPU Cooling fan Rotate the CPU cooler’s fixing clip 90° clockwise to secure the cooler.
11. Install the CPU cooler fan connector, the case cover, and the screws for securing the case cover, one after another.
12. Press the power strip switch to turn on the power, then press the power button on the computer case panel to start the computer.

II. The oxidation of the CPU’s surface contacts has caused the machine to fail to start.
1. Based on the analysis of the fault symptoms, the issue might be with the CPU chip. First, turn off the computer by pressing the power button on the chassis panel.
2. Press the power strip switch to cut off the power.
3. Following the steps outlined above, first remove the peripherals, then unscrew the screws securing the case cover, remove the case cover, and finally disconnect the CPU cooler fan connector.
4. Rotate the CPU cooler’s fixing clip counterclockwise by 90° to remove the CPU cooling fan.
5. First, pull the lever and then secure the cover.
6. Remove and inspect the CPU chip.
7. Upon observation, we found that the contacts on the CPU surface were oxidized. Use an eraser to gently wipe around the CPU.
8. Install the processed CPU chip.
9. Close the pull rod
10. Install the CPU cooling fan: Rotate the CPU cooler’s fixing clip 90° clockwise to secure the cooler.
11. Install the CPU cooler fan connector, the case cover, and the case cover fixing screws in the order specified above.
12. Press the power strip switch to turn on the power, then press the power button on the computer case’s panel to start the computer.

3. CPU issue causing the machine to fail to boot.
Press the power button on the chassis to turn on the computer. Based on the analysis of the fault symptoms, the issue might be with the CPU chip. First, press the power button on the chassis panel to turn off the computer.
6. Install the new CPU chip
7. Close the pull rod
8. Install the CPU cooling fan: Rotate the CPU cooler’s fixing clip 90° clockwise to secure the cooler.
9. Install the CPU cooler fan connector, the case cover, and the case cover fixing screws in the order specified above.
10. Press the power strip switch to turn on the power, then press the power button on the computer case panel to start the computer.

4. The CPU temperature is too high, causing the machine to automatically restart.
Press the power button on the chassis to turn on the computer. Based on the analysis of the fault symptoms, it’s likely that the CPU temperature has become too high, causing the computer to automatically restart. First, press the power button on the chassis panel to shut down the computer.
1. Press the power strip switch to cut off the power.
2. Following the steps outlined above, first remove the peripherals, then unscrew the screws securing the case cover, and finally remove the case cover.
3. Check whether the CPU cooling fan connector is properly plugged in.
4. Plug in the CPU cooling fan connector.
5. Install the case cover and the screws for securing the case cover, following the steps outlined above.
6. Press the power strip switch to turn on the power, then press the power button on the computer case panel to start the computer.

Advantages and Applications of Oil-Bearing DC Fans

The pivot joint is fixed at the position of the motor stator base, ensuring an appropriate gap between the rotor and the stator. Of course, there must also be a clearance between the shaft core and the bearings to prevent the shaft core from becoming locked and thus unable to function. The stator structure of the motor—hereafter referred to as the "stator"—is designed in such a way that, once power is supplied, an induced magnetic field will be generated between the rotor and the stator. The control circuit then drives the electric fan motor into operation. Therefore, in the conventional fan motor design, as long as the fan rotor, the motor stator, and the drive circuit work together via the pivot joint between the shaft core and the bearings and through magnetic field induction, the motor can operate effectively.
