DC fan Through the conversion of electrical energy into mechanical energy via direct current voltage and electromagnetic induction, the fan blades are set in motion. Therefore, the fan housing and blades together form an integral component that is absolutely essential. Most people recognize the importance of these two parts—but what exactly is the relationship between them? What kind of effect is it?
First, blade curvature: Within a certain range, the greater the blade curvature of a DC fan, the greater the kinetic energy of the gas at the same rotational speed—resulting in higher airflow and higher static pressure. At the same time, the resistance experienced by the blades also increases, thereby requiring greater torque from the motor.
Second, the motor diameter: Due to the presence of the motor and bearings, the central portion of the DC fan’s spindle inevitably contains a blind zone where no airflow passes through. The diameter of the spindle directly determines the size of this blind zone. The smaller the spindle diameter, the more it depends on the fan’s electrical design. The power of the machine—high-power motors require larger stator winding coils, which inevitably occupy more space. In situations where vertical expansion (increasing height) is not feasible, the only option left is horizontal expansion (increasing area).
Third, blade curvature: DC fan blade In addition to having a certain curvature in the cross-section, it does not extend vertically along the radial direction in the top view either; instead, it curves slightly toward the direction of rotation, forming a definite arc. If the blade were to extend vertically along the radial direction... The airflow generated by the rotation of the DC cooling fan will spread out in a scattered pattern on the side of the air outlet, resulting in short air delivery intervals and a lack of concentrated “force.” However, if the current product design features a slight curvature, it can ensure that the blown airflow is concentrated within a column-shaped space directly in front of the air outlet, thereby enhancing performance. Air supply interval and wind pressure.
Fourth, blade spacing: If the spacing between blades is too small, it will cause airflow disturbances and increase friction on the blade surfaces, thereby reducing the fan’s efficiency. On the other hand, if the spacing between blades is too large, it will lead to increased pressure loss and insufficient wind pressure.
The above is a sharing of the functions of fan blades in DC fans.
