In our daily lives, we all come into contact with... Cooling fan The two key metrics for evaluating the cooling performance of a cooling fan are its airflow and static pressure. So, what’s the relationship between a cooling fan’s airflow and its static pressure? Jiangshan Lai Electronic Technology is here to provide the answer!
The airflow of a cooling fan is defined as the product of the planar velocity across the fan’s ventilation area. Under the condition that the ventilation area remains constant, the greater the planar velocity, the larger the airflow of the cooling fan. The higher the airflow of the cooling fan, the greater the amount of heat that can be absorbed from the air. As air movement is enhanced, more heat can be carried away, resulting in improved cooling performance. The larger the diameter of the fan, the greater its surface area.

To stop normal ventilation, it is necessary to counteract the resistance of the cooling fan during the ventilation process. The cooling fan must generate a cooling-fan pressure sufficient to overcome the resistance to airflow. This pressure corresponds to the air pressure produced by the cooling fan. To achieve the desired airflow from the cooling fan, both static pressure and dynamic pressure are required. The total pressure is the algebraic sum of the static pressure and the dynamic pressure. The total pressure refers to the overall increase in pressure delivered by the cooling fan—the difference between the total pressure at the cooling fan’s outlet and its inlet.

In practical applications, the nominal maximum airflow rate is not the actual airflow delivered by the fan’s hot plate. A strong ventilation capacity does not necessarily mean a large airflow rate. As air moves, the airflow path encounters obstructions—such as fan thermal sensors or components—that create resistance and restrict the free flow of air. In other words, as the volume of air increases, the air pressure decreases.

The above is the relationship between the airflow and static pressure of cooling fans. For more details and information, please contact our company!

Advantages and Applications of Oil-Bearing DC Fans

The pivot joint is fixed at the position of the motor stator base, ensuring an appropriate gap between the rotor and the stator. Of course, there must also be a clearance between the shaft core and the bearings to prevent the shaft core from becoming locked and thus unable to function. The stator structure of the motor—hereafter referred to as the "stator"—is designed in such a way that, once power is supplied, an induced magnetic field will be generated between the rotor and the stator. The control circuit then drives the electric fan motor into operation. Therefore, in the conventional fan motor design, as long as the fan rotor, the motor stator, and the drive circuit work together via the pivot joint between the shaft core and the bearings and through magnetic field induction, the motor can operate effectively.
