However, as the fan is used daily, wear and tear gradually cause a slight deviation, resulting in the center of gravity no longer being aligned with the axis—thus creating “eccentricity.”
Once such a fan starts rotating, it functions like an oscillator (an oscillator is essentially an eccentric wheel attached to the motor shaft). As usage time increases, the fan bearings gradually wear out, causing vibrations to intensify and noise levels to rise.
Motor failure: The cooling fan is a wear-and-tear component. Once its motor reaches its designed service life, or if the motor becomes damp and experiences internal short circuits, overload, or power surges, it may lead to motor damage. This type of failure is normal and can be resolved by simply replacing the fan.
Usage recommendation: The cooling fan will naturally produce some airflow noise during operation. However, if you notice that the fan’s noise has significantly increased compared to when you first purchased the device, or if the noise differs markedly from its normal operating sound (e.g., if you hear scraping or clanging noises), it’s time to have the fan inspected or cleaned of dust.
