Many DC cooling fan Customers often worry that, as DC cooling fans are used over time, they’ll inevitably develop some level of noise. Is this normal? Actually, it is completely normal—but many customers mistakenly perceive this noise as abnormal, thinking there must be something wrong with the DC cooling fan. In fact, noise isn’t the same as unusual sounds; rather, it’s a perfectly normal phenomenon.
The noise generated by cooling fans arises from the periodic pulsating forces exerted on the fan blades by the non-uniform airflow at the outlet—for example, the uneven distribution of pressure both on the blades themselves and across their surfaces. Additionally, as the blades rotate, they disturb the surrounding air and adjacent components, contributing to rotational noise. Furthermore, vortex noise is produced by the turbulent boundary layers, vortices, and vortex shedding that occur when gas flows over the blades, causing fluctuations in the pressure distribution on the blade surfaces. In general, the noise of cooling fans is closely linked to the motion of their blades and is classified as physical noise.
For cooling fans in the same series, the higher the airflow and static pressure, the greater the noise level will be. Therefore, we should carefully select the appropriate fan type based on the actual conditions, as excessive airflow not only wastes electrical energy but also increases noise levels.
For us, it’s all harm and no benefit. For cooling fans of the same model, we should, as much as possible, choose fans that operate at lower speeds. As for fans of different models, we should select those with lower noise levels, rather than focusing solely on rotational speed.
So, how does the unusual noise from the cooling fan come about?
The unusual sounds from a cooling fan differ from normal noise. While normal noise simply sounds like the wind blowing, unusual sounds, in addition to the sound of wind, also include other noises—meaning they produce two or more distinct sounds. The occurrence of unusual sounds may be due to foreign objects inside the bearing or...
Deformation, improper assembly leading to collisions, or uneven winding of motor windings causing loosening.
Generally, we rely on listening closely with our ears to detect abnormal sounds. This method is highly subjective, making it difficult to identify such sounds accurately and prone to disputes. If the number of fans involved is relatively large, we can use spectrum analysis equipment to examine the noise spectrum—this allows us to identify the distribution of noise frequencies.
Different sound.
Currently, industrial cooling fans are widely used to dissipate heat, remove dust, and maintain air circulation in workshops. Given the broad range of applications for cooling fans, it’s essential to know how to distinguish between normal noise and abnormal sounds in these fans.
The above are the reasons why DC cooling fans may produce noise and unusual sounds during operation. For more information and details, please visit our company’s official website!

Advantages and Applications of Oil-Bearing DC Fans

The pivot joint is fixed at the position of the motor stator base, ensuring an appropriate gap between the rotor and the stator. Of course, there must also be a clearance between the shaft core and the bearings to prevent the shaft core from becoming locked and thus unable to function. The stator structure of the motor—hereafter referred to as the "stator"—is designed in such a way that, once power is supplied, an induced magnetic field will be generated between the rotor and the stator. The control circuit then drives the electric fan motor into operation. Therefore, in the conventional fan motor design, as long as the fan rotor, the motor stator, and the drive circuit work together via the pivot joint between the shaft core and the bearings and through magnetic field induction, the motor can operate effectively.
