Due to the unique characteristics of DC cooling fans, the industry standard is as follows: For cooling fans with an external frame, depending on the size of the fan, when placed individually on a 30-100 cm-high stand and allowed to freely fall onto a 1 cm-thick wooden board from all six sides, the fan may sustain some damage—but as long as it can still operate normally and its electrical performance meets the required specifications, it is considered qualified.
It seems that the standards for this product aren't particularly high, mainly because the internal structure of the cooling fan is tightly fitted. For example, the bearings and the central tube, the stator and the central tube, as well as the motor housing and the fan blades—all these components are designed with tight fits rather than being integrally molded.
When the height exceeds the standard and the device lands, the structural dimensions change upon impact, which can cause the cooling fan to make unusual noises or even jam and stop rotating.
When the height exceeds the standard, for commonly used frame blades, the plastic material typically used is PBT. However, with the central tube, ribs, and fan blades made of this material, they tend to break easily, potentially causing the cooling fan to fail to operate. For fans equipped with dual-ball bearings, switching to PC material can meet higher standards for drop resistance.

Advantages and Applications of Oil-Bearing DC Fans

The pivot joint is fixed at the position of the motor stator base, ensuring an appropriate gap between the rotor and the stator. Of course, there must also be a clearance between the shaft core and the bearings to prevent the shaft core from becoming locked and thus unable to function. The stator structure of the motor—hereafter referred to as the "stator"—is designed in such a way that, once power is supplied, an induced magnetic field will be generated between the rotor and the stator. The control circuit then drives the electric fan motor into operation. Therefore, in the conventional fan motor design, as long as the fan rotor, the motor stator, and the drive circuit work together via the pivot joint between the shaft core and the bearings and through magnetic field induction, the motor can operate effectively.
