According to their power source type, cooling fans can be divided into two categories: DC fans and AC fans. However, from a physical composition standpoint, DC fan The AC fan shares the same basic structural components: fan blades, rotor, stator, fan frame, and bearing system. What are the structure and functions of a DC fan? Details are provided below.
1. Fan frame: Supports the fan motor and directs airflow.
2. Fan Rotor Assembly: This includes the fan blades, which are the source of airflow and form the axis of the fan. The fan rotor assembly serves to support and balance the fan blades, the rotor magnetic ring, the permanent magnets, the key that drives the magnetic stages to switch speeds, the outer frame of the magnetic ring, and the mechanism for securing the rotating magnetic ring.
3. Fan motor assembly: Includes the circuit board responsible for controlling energy consumption and handling signal input and output, magnetic pole switching elements generated by silicon steel laminations (i.e., the stator magnets and upper winding coils), upper and lower covers made of silicon steel, as well as fixing and insulating components.
4. Fan stator assembly: Includes a support spring that separates the bearing’s center axis from the bearing itself, enabling high rotational speeds, low friction, and long service life. The entire assembly—comprising the retaining ring, fixed nucleus for rotation, motor section, rotational direction of production, and dynamic rotational speed—is critical.

Advantages and Applications of Oil-Bearing DC Fans

The pivot joint is fixed at the position of the motor stator base, ensuring an appropriate gap between the rotor and the stator. Of course, there must also be a clearance between the shaft core and the bearings to prevent the shaft core from becoming locked and thus unable to function. The stator structure of the motor—hereafter referred to as the "stator"—is designed in such a way that, once power is supplied, an induced magnetic field will be generated between the rotor and the stator. The control circuit then drives the electric fan motor into operation. Therefore, in the conventional fan motor design, as long as the fan rotor, the motor stator, and the drive circuit work together via the pivot joint between the shaft core and the bearings and through magnetic field induction, the motor can operate effectively.
