Many people, when choosing DC cooling fans, simply pick a few manufacturers at random and then decide based on price comparisons. However, when selecting a DC fan, you can’t just focus on price. Below, we’ll show you how to choose the right one. DC fan
1. Listening to Noise: At the same rotational speed and voltage, a DC cooling fan with lower noise is preferable. This is because low noise levels are closely related to factors such as the blade design, bearings, lubricant quality, and assembly structure. The better the blade shape is designed, the greater the airflow will be, and the lower the noise will be. The higher the bearing precision, the less friction there will be between the bearing and the shaft core; the more precisely the dimensions are matched, the lower the noise will naturally be. Lower noise indicates less friction, which in turn extends the service life of both the bearing and the shaft core—and consequently, the lifespan of the DC cooling fan itself will also be longer.
2. Check the current: At the same rotational speed, same voltage, and same airflow rate, a DC cooling fan with a lower current is preferable. This is because a lower current indicates lower fan losses, which in turn means lower power consumption. The primary reasons for lower power consumption are the product’s strong magnetic conductivity, good insulation of the motor’s enameled wire, high copper content, and high activity of the D-type lubricant.
3. Measuring Vibration: Among fans of the same specifications and rotational speed, DC cooling fans with lower vibration are superior. A DC cooling fan is a high-speed rotating device, so some vibration is inevitable—no manufacturer can guarantee zero vibration. The lower the vibration, the better the fan performs. With less vibration, the fan operates more smoothly, resulting in reduced wear on the bearings and shaft core. This also minimizes oil evaporation or ball bearing wear, naturally extending the fan’s service life.

Advantages and Applications of Oil-Bearing DC Fans

The pivot joint is fixed at the position of the motor stator base, ensuring an appropriate gap between the rotor and the stator. Of course, there must also be a clearance between the shaft core and the bearings to prevent the shaft core from becoming locked and thus unable to function. The stator structure of the motor—hereafter referred to as the "stator"—is designed in such a way that, once power is supplied, an induced magnetic field will be generated between the rotor and the stator. The control circuit then drives the electric fan motor into operation. Therefore, in the conventional fan motor design, as long as the fan rotor, the motor stator, and the drive circuit work together via the pivot joint between the shaft core and the bearings and through magnetic field induction, the motor can operate effectively.
