The speed of a cooling fan is determined by factors such as voltage, the angle of the fan blades, diameter, number of fan blades, and bearings. So what could be the reasons behind a cooling fan slowing down?
The primary factors determining the rotational speed of a cooling fan are the fan’s own structural design and components, bearing friction, and aerodynamic drag caused by the angle of the fan blades. If the cooling fan’s air pressure is insufficient, this will also affect its rotational speed.
1. To determine the reason for the slow speed of a DC cooling fan, first check whether it has been used for too long without being disassembled and cleaned of dust. Excessive dust buildup can make it difficult for the fan to rotate, thus slowing down its speed. We recommend regular cleaning—dust can cause significant damage to DC cooling fans.
2. The slow speed of the DC cooling fan could also be due to issues with the power supply unit. Therefore, users might consider replacing either the silent power supply or the DC cooling fan. Currently, there are many silent power supplies available on the market, most of which have undergone rigorous testing and can effectively reduce power supply noise. Additionally, you can also opt for a better replacement of the DC cooling fan. The process of replacing the power supply fan is quite straightforward; the key is to pay close attention to the connection between the fan and the power supply.

The pivot joint is fixed at the position of the motor stator base, ensuring an appropriate gap between the rotor and the stator. Of course, there must also be a clearance between the shaft core and the bearings to prevent the shaft core from becoming locked and thus unable to function. The stator structure of the motor—hereafter referred to as the "stator"—is designed in such a way that, once power is supplied, an induced magnetic field will be generated between the rotor and the stator. The control circuit then drives the electric fan motor into operation. Therefore, in the conventional fan motor design, as long as the fan rotor, the motor stator, and the drive circuit work together via the pivot joint between the shaft core and the bearings and through magnetic field induction, the motor can operate effectively.
