Cooling fan Noise issues are relatively common. Some stem from quality problems with the cooling fans themselves, while others arise from improper installation of the cooling fans. Therefore, proper installation of cooling fans is also extremely important.
1. The mounting method that clamps the cooling fan bracket from both top and bottom is prone to resonance and amplification of noise due to the vibrations generated by the cooling fan during operation. In contrast, a high-speed cooling fan that operates without vibration can avoid this issue.
2. The fan blades are installed upside down, drawing heat from bottom to top. Due to the weight of the fan blades themselves, they contain oil. Cooling fan The possible overhang could exceed the height of the outer frame, making contact with the heatsink below and generating noise (which can be effectively resolved by replacing it with a dual-ball bearing).
3. The locking screws were installed incorrectly. The first screw was too tight, causing the lock to be excessively rigid, and the parallel second screw was also tightened too much. Then, locking two opposite screws together will cause the fan’s outer frame to deform and warp, and the fan blades may come into contact with the outer frame walls, potentially producing audible scratching noises. The correct procedure is to first tighten the first screw without over-tightening it, ensuring that the lock remains undistorted. Once this step is complete, re-tighten the diagonally opposite screws, and after finishing that, proceed to tighten the other pair of diagonally opposite screws.
